Welcome to the

Mississippi Valley Amateur Radio Association

Web Site

The Mississippi Valley Amateur Radio Association (MVARA)  is a small, but active, group of ham operators in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. We meet at the LaCrosse County Administration Building at 6th and State St in LaCrosse, WI. Parking is in the lot east of the building, and entry is through the doors on the east side of the building facing 7th St. The doors are on a timer, and only open from 6:45 pm - 7:15 pm. We also try to get together for breakfast once per month.  Please see our Event Calendar for upcoming meeting dates as well as other MVARA activities. Also if you are interested in VE testing, we give tests at every MVARA monthly meeting. If your interested in a testing session make sure to Contact Us and make sure to indicate that you want a test.

We can make it happen for you.

There are two portable antenna towers each sporting tri-band beam antennas complete with their own rotors and controls as well as many dipole antennas.

A Great time was had by all at the 2019 NWS Sky-warn Appreciation day.

The MVARA participated in the NWS Sky-warn  day again this year and we had record crowds that came to visit. it was a great day with  many contacts being made by all hams that visited. The MVARA along with the Riverland Amateur Radio Club had many rigs to choose from as well as antennas set up for almost any band. A Special thanks goes out the the LaCrosse NWS, Todd Shea / KB9YXS Warning Coordination Meteorologist that invited us all up to the site for great radio fun and some Good eats to boot.
