Craig, I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my thanks to you and your entire club for making me feel so welcome at the recently completed MVARA Shootout. I'm not sure about the other clubs in the region, but you guys showed geniune hospitality which will, in time, translate to new members. I enjoyed meeting each and every one of you and everyone was so personable. From what I saw, you guys have the making of a club that will quickly gain a reputation as the club to join - people just naturally gravitate to Hams like you. And you also seem to have what it takes - technically - to mentor some of the newer Hams which is something that seems to have been lost over the past few years with so many clubs. So my congratulations to the leadership in the kinds of things you're doing to garner interest, promote excellence and to put the excitement back into Ham Radio. I'm sure I'm right when my gut feel tells me that the leadership will point the finger, instead, to the members as the ones who are making the club successful, but the attitude had to start somewhere and usually with just a handful of visionaries. I'll be looking forward to seeing some of you at the next Dayton Hamvention - hopefully you'll be wearing your shirts (I may steal that idea and try to coax my local club into doing the same - we sell logo patches for our club...does that count? HA!). 73 and I hope to see you next year in Wisconsin as well, Lon, KØWJ HOME |
