Saturday October 13th, 2007 the City of Onalaska, Wisconsin will showcase both the firefighters and the firefighting equipment that our city is very proud of. Over the past several years the City of Onalaska has grown very rapidly and many have wondered if our "Small Town" fire department could actually keep up with the very rapid growth. Today is a testimonial to not only the Onalaska Fire Department's ability to keep up with the growth of the city but to excel during some very challenging times. Come with me as I will take you on a tour of the Onalaska Fire Department, it's equipment and the professional firefighters who will make the equipment perform during our city's time of need. As our time permits during our tour we will stop and visit with some of the courageous firefighters of our Onalaska Wisconsin Fire Department.
The new station was built in 1999 It houses 8 major pieces and 4 support vehicles. We currently have 8 full-time firefighters and 24 reserve firefighters. Photos by Jeremy Southworth
